What I was up to earlier this morning, when I had the roads to myself and watched the rising sun.

What’s remarkable is that from DUMBO, this building looks to not be that much taller than the others in lower Manhattan. It isn’t until I see photos like this that I realize just how tall it is.
Even more incredible? I have the opportunity to look at it all day from my desk. As I type this I can see the light flashing on the very top of the newly installed spire from my desk.
ah i do love this building. i’m a little sad to see it topped, actually, since i’ve been watching its construction for so long

the way the avenues of chicago get more defined; milwaukee ave must have been a ghost town back in 84. and seeing the growth of NYC in the past few decades; so much development all around brooklyn/queens. i am in love with this.
wow this is seriously incredible. especially shanghai, which was farmland the year i was born and now has over 20 million people.

Continued biking down to Chinatown where my friend lives (which took an age because he bikes slower than anything). There’s this super awesome park near his house that’s built on a giant hill with terraced pathways leading down to that little pond where some kids were fishing and mothers were chilling with their little children.

Biked down to the West Loop to meet a friend and ended up all over the city somehow, but these are just from the WL.
