I don’t know why, but one of the things I just wasn’t expecting to find on David Byrne’s website was a recipe for fish tacos.
“Respecting the exact dimensions of a real american kraft paper lunch bag (33cm/18cm/11cm), this suedette handbag will suit all your daily needs: from carrying your finger-licking meal, to taking care of your most precious belongings, or handling simple groceries.” From Striiiipes
Can I just tell you? I love shit like this. A lot of people would say that this is over the top and ridiculous, and why would you do something so utterly pretentious and meaningless? And they would be right, but that’s exactly why this is so awesome. There is a great deal of skill required to take something an strip it down to its basic components, to eliminate functions until you’re left with what is absolutely vital. It takes talent to go minimalist. But it takes a lot of talent to go the other way as well-to take something that’s already simple and complicate the hell out of it without making it unusable. It’s really hard to take something that’s been stripped down and improvise off of it, because there’s so little to grab hold of. That is why I love shit like this.
